Hope Ahrendt, Office Team Lead

Since 2015, Hope has been an integral part of Opticology Eyecare, leading the team and adeptly resolving patient concerns. Currently, she’s studying Human Resource Management at Fort Hays State University. Certified in Medical Coding, she ensures everything runs smoothly. Outside work, she loves reading, cooking, and working out. Most importantly, she adores spending time with her daughter, Luna.

Morgan Herder, Community Outreach/Optometric Technician/Contact Lens Specialist

Morgan Herder Morgan started her career at Opticology Eyecare in 2012 and since then has had a passion in helping the business grow. She loves people and serves as one of our optometric technicians. When not helping our patients, she is assisting Dr. Barger with business development. She manages our social media and branding and actively engages in community outreach and volunteering initiatives for the office. In her free time, she is happiest when going on outdoor adventures with her husband, Keatin, and raising their beautiful daughters, Mia and Brynlee.

Laura Doggett, Optical Team Lead

Laura started her career at Opticology Eyecare in June, 2018. She is currently one of the opticians and is cross trained in other departments. She has 5 years of experience in this field and loves to learn more about eyecare. Laura grew up in Wichita, KS and went to WSU Tech where she received her CNA license and studied pre-nursing. Laura is newly married to her husband Rhys and recently adopted a puppy, Yondu. In her free time she enjoys traveling, cooking, crocheting, and spending time with her family.

Lindsey Hoveskeland, Administrative Office Assistant/Insurance Assistant

Lindsay started her career at Opticology Eyecare in May 2020. She is currently serves as an administrative office assistant and helps with collecting insurance information. Lindsay was born and raised in Goddard, KS. She graduated from Friends University with Bachelors of Arts Degree where she also was a member of the cheerleading squad. After college, she began her family with husband, Landon, and 3 beautiful girls, Addison, Laykin & Emberlyn. In her free time, she loves traveling, boating, gardening plus cheering on the Kansas City Chiefs.

Pamela Helgason, Administrative Office Assistant/Doctor assistant

Pam began her career at Opticology Eyecare in June, 2020 and has since become our director of first impressions, ensuring patients feel welcomed when scheduling appointments and checking in. Outside of work, she enthusiastically volunteers for her favorite animal rescue, Beauties & Beasts. Pam relishes spending time with her family and enjoys reading. She shares her life with her husband Jon, their children Rian ( Josh, SIL) and Jon Philip and their two furry pups.

Lynde Corr, Patient Intake/Call Coordinator

Lynde started her career at Opticology Eyecare in April, 2021. She currently assists patients that need to schedule exams. In her free time, she enjoys traveling with her husband, spending time with her children and grandchildren, growing/canning vegetables, and spending time lakeside.

Robyn Garrison, CPO – Optometric Technician/Contact Lens Specialist/Optometric Scribe

Robyn started her Opticology adventure in 2021. She is married to Jim and has one daughter, Rebekah. She loves jogging and 5k fun runs, coaching Special Olympics for a local Wichita team, visiting vintage markets and repurposing rusty old stuff. Robyn also enjoys making abstract art in the medium of pen and ink.

Nicole White ABO, Optician/Glasses Lab Fabricator

Nicole started her career at Opticology Eyecare in December 2021. She passed the American Board of Opticianry Certification Exam in September of 2022, and has over 7 years of experience as an optician. Nicole grew up in Holyrood, KS and studied at Barton Community College in Great Bend, KS as well as Southwestern College in Winfield, KS. Nicole was married in September of 2023, and she has an emotional support dog named Stuart and a cat named Stella. In her free time she enjoys crafting, cooking, and being involved in the church community. She is passionate about glasses and loves helping patients with their eyewear needs.

Angela Kelly, CPC – Billing and Coding Specialist

Angela joined the team in March of 2022. She has 20+ years experience in the field of billing and coding, and in 2020 passed the AAPC certification on her first attempt. Her goal is to gain maximum reimbursement for our patients by accurately reporting services to insurance vendors. In her personal time, she enjoys photography, painting, various church activities, and spending time with family and friends.

Lakyn Herbst, CPOT – Optometric Technician/Contact Lens Specialist/Optometric Scribe

Lakyn started at Opticology Eyecare in September 2022. She is a Certified Paraoptometric and has 6 years of experience in the field. Her and her husband Koby enjoy spending time with their beautiful daughter and 3 dogs. In her free time she likes to build big lego sets and hang out with her family and dogs. She has an increasing passion for scleral lens technology as well as vision therapy.

Karissa Floyd – Optometric Technician/Contact Lens Specialist/Optometric Scribe

Karissa started her career at Opticology Eyecare in September 2023. She has 3 years of experience in the eye care world and is always eager to learn more. In her free time she enjoys spending time with her family and her dog Jinks.

Amanda Seekins – Optician/Glasses Lab Fabricator

Photo of Amanda. Amanda has been with Opticology Eyecare since March of 2024. Although this is a new home for her, she has been in the field since 2005. Amanda’s passion and fascination with optometry has led her to pursue her ABO certification and has been a licensed dispensing optician for the past 5 years. In her spare time, she enjoys cooking and going to estate sales.
